PALACIO CONDE
DE MIRANDA

The Palacio Conde de Miranda is not just a destination; it is an experience. Here, luxury is not merely a word—it is a way of life.

A lifestyle that blends the exclusivity of a palace with the proximity to everything Madrid has to offer.

Situated in a privileged location, our palace has been carefully restored and transformed into a collection of unique tourist apartments, preserving its historical essence while offering the most sophisticated comforts.

At Palacio Conde de Miranda, we believe that accommodation is much more than just a place to sleep. It is a space where details make all the difference, where every stay becomes an unforgettable experience.

  • XVIII

The Palace of the Count of Miranda

Built in the first half of the 18th century, this grand residence was home to Antonio López de Zúñiga y Chaves, the 14th Count of Miranda del Castañar. Its imposing granite façade and entrance sculptures earned it the nickname "The House of the Savages."
  • XVIX

From the Counts of Miranda to the Dukes of Alba

In 1839, the palace passed to María Manuela Kirkpatrick, mother of Francisca de Sales, future Duchess of Alba. During this time, it became a hub for Spain’s most influential noble families. In 1893, the building underwent significant renovations and became the Higher School of War until 1924. It was during this time that the infamous Captain Sánchez Crime took place in 1913, later inspiring the 1984 film The Crime of Captain Sánchez.
  • XX

    From Factory to Textile Trade

After 1924, the palace took on a new life as the Madrid Industrial textile factory, producing fine knitwear. It also housed Manufacturas Saleras and the Menéndez case factory, becoming a key part of Madrid’s industrial landscape.

From Ruins to an Exclusive Retreat

By 1987, the building had fallen into ruin and was acquired for restoration, transforming it into luxury apartments. In 2014, its current owners reimagined it as Palacio Conde de Miranda, where history and modern comfort blend seamlessly in the heart of Madrid.

The Palacio Conde de Miranda has been acclaimed for its excellence and attention to detail, receiving numerous awards in the fields of hospitality and luxury tourism.

These accolades highlight our commitment to providing an unmatched experience in the heart of Madrid.
